the grizzly giant... this is the biggest sequoia in yosemite. the first branch on the right is seven feet in diameter, to give an idea of it's size.

big and tall also means hard to photograph.

this sequoia was one of very few that were unguarded. the same cannot be said for it's emotions. 

in the olden days, men with mustaches and women with parasols would park their stagecoaches atop this tree and have their photograph taken. we attempted to do that with the passat, but were quick to learn such things are illegal these days.
