wild horse way

as we were driving out of wyoming towards utah, we decided to stop at a particularly beautiful exit to get gas, stretch our legs, etc. There happened to be a steep, twisting road that winded through some striking rock formations (we believe it was called "wild horse way" or something along those lines) so we turned on it and within a half-mile or so we saw a wild horse. of course, i was skeptical, believing wild horses to be something of the past, once very abundant but long extinct, like everyone's favorite, the passenger pigeon. Alas, we could not find any evidence to show this was not a wild horse; no fences, homes, people, or other horses. Upon realizing this, we were both pretty amazed especially since it was sighted along a road that almost guaranteed it.
