fred's gardens

lucia loved the water wall! if jarrod walked away she would throw her body towards it, motioning with her arms that she wanted to go back. it was pretty cute.

ethan has overcome his fear of the big horse as this photo shows.

jarrod and lucia pass judgment.

lucia's first "slide down the leg of an over-sized horse statue." actually, it might be her second or third time. who knows.

another example of ethan looking like a dork.

and he's off.

lucia was a bit disgusted that i placed her directly in the grass.

"she's the one i was telling you about."

ethan insisted on wearing norah's sunglasses and now we know why. this child is way too cool for school.

band photo.

ethan gets all conceptual on us.

these sculptures reminded me of burned tree trunks.

enjoying the celebrity sunglasses seem to impart, ethan tells the spider sculpture to get lost.

"look how cool that three-year old looks..." "hurry, get a picture, i'm sure he's famous..." "I wonder where he is going after this..." we imagined all those people were saying.

ethan spent a good minute staring at this sculpture before jarrod encouraged him to get closer. it was almost like he was trying to wrap his mind around it on an existential level. but then i remembered he is three.

watching the fishes.

we do a pretty good job pretending they're ours, no?

jarrod took this photo with a sculpture in the foreground. i like it.

chicagoland!

the children sit in the backseat.

at the zoo with norah bear.

there were families of geese marching around like they owned the place.

the best way to get a child to like you is to incite a little fear into them and then make yourself the only adult present.

chiara and norah admire the geese.

the museum of science and industry; norah loved all of the interactive bits.

staying true to jasinski ways, the ladies discuss poop.

the city museum in st. louis

if you happen to find yourself in st. louis, do yourself a favor and go to this museum. this part of the museum featured architectural relics, mainly from the arts and crafts era of designing. jarrod admires some doorknobs.

going up?

jarrod refuses yet another offering.

red chair.

if anyone knows how to clutch onto a snack, it's cecca.

the exterior of the museum is filled with gutted out fuselages, welded wire tubes, various slides, an adult-sized ball pit and many other ways to injure oneself.

jarrod goes exploring.

there's my chippy.

"it makes me nervous" was the sentiment of the day for cecca.

yes, those are people apparently suspended in mid-air.

this wall was made out of bread pans.

cecca has yet to find a whale she doesn't get along with.

who knew gods were such great gardeners?

jarrod takes a break.

hidden cameras abound.

cecca shows off her third leg.

there's my chippy.

there's always time for senior photos.

cecca goes to fetch her hockey stick for the next senior photo.

jarrod's "super-senior" photo.

jarrod was under the impression this would look cool.

jarrod shares a laugh with ol' penis-rock.
